The Cosmic Pro Carbon has traditionally been favored primarily for fast, flat races, but recent improvements have boosted this wheel's versatility. Now, it delivers incredible all-arounder performance at a price that can't be beaten. Engineered with Mavic UST technology, the Cosmic Pro Carbon UST offers all the benefits of tubeless, including less rolling resistance, a smoother ride quality, and a reduced risk of flats. The rims are made using our iTgMax process, which not only minimizes weight but also improves braking performance and reliability, especially on long, steep descents. The 40mm deep rims are NACA compliant for low drag and excellent crosswind stability, and their lighter weight results in reduced inertia for explosive acceleration and climbing efficiency. The Cosmic Pro Carbon UST is completed with 25mm Yksion Pro UST tires for maximum rolling efficiency, grip, and a smooth, comfortable ride. Lightweight, aero and efficient - 40mm NACA-inspired rim shape minimizes drag for added speed. - Reduced inertia of the lightweight rim delivers instant acceleration. - Mavic Road Tubeless UST improves rolling efficiency. Versatile performance for all road riding conditions - Minimal drag, low inertia, and high lateral stiffness make it fast and efficient on all types of terrain, from the flats to mountain climbs. - Best braking efficiency of carbon clinchers thanks to iTgMAX Better tire grip and control with reduced risk of flats - Best-in-class tire grip thanks to UST and 11Storm compound - High flat protection thanks to UST and easy on-the-road tire repair
A favorite for everyday road training and racing, this versatile wheel system produces a lightweight, dynamic ride quality that now has the added benefits of our UST Road Tubeless technology. This patented system provides seamless integration between the wheel and our new Yksion Pro UST tubeless tires that makes installation, removal, and maintenance easier than ever. You get all the benefits of tubeless, including less rolling resistance and a smoother, more controlled ride quality. Without tubes, you can run lower tire pressure with no risk of pinch flats, and the sealant helps prevent punctures. The rims are engineered using our ISM 4D technology and a wider design (19mm internal/23mm external). ISM stands for Inter Spoke Milling, a unique process that trims the thickness of the rim wall between the spokes to create a rim that's lighter but still very durable. Roll faster and smoother with a reduced risk of punctures - With UST Road Tubeless, no tube means no friction, so you experience less rolling resistance and higher speeds. - UST Road Tubeless lets you ride with lower tire pressure for a smoother ride and a reduced risk of punctures. - Our patented UST system offers a perfect union between tire and wheel, so installation, removal, and maintenance are easy. Climb, accelerate, and sprint faster - 17mm internal rim width increases air volume. - ISM 4D superlight rim - Double-butted steel spokes keep the weight down for a fast and comfortable ride. Powerful, reliable disc brakes for more confidence and control - 24 spokes front and rear for optimized brake torque distribution - Front hub convertible from 12mm or 15mm thru-axle to quick release.
When creating the R-Sys, Mavic's goal was to provide gran fondo racers and all cyclists who love the mountains with the best possible wheel choice to achieve their climbing goals. The R-Sys SLR pushes the limits of aluminum-rimmed wheel design with the technological advantages you expect from the legendary wheel-maker to result in the lightest clincher wheel in Mavic's lineup. The exceptionally strong Maxtal alloy is streamlined into lightweight, yet strong rims by the ISM 4D process, which machines away excess material from where it is not needed. Mavic's Tracomp spokes work both in traction and compression, delivering significant advantages over traditional wheel designs that rely entirely on spokes that are strictly in tension. Under heavy loads, instead of losing their tension, Tracomp spokes enter into compression and continue to support the wheel with a high degree of lateral stiffness, all while lowering overall wheel weight and rotating mass, which means stiffer, lighter, more efficient wheels. This ultralight wheel spins effortlessly on QRM SL hubs, housing smooth and durable bearings in a very weight-optimized hub body. R-Sys SLR wheels come equipped with Mavic’s Yksion Pro tires, featuring front- and rear-specific designs constructed according to the differing demands you place on each. These wheels benefit from an Exalith 2 rim finish, which delivers enhanced braking performance in wet and dry conditions while extending the longevity of the braking surfaces, as well as the appearance of the rim. Experience the flyweight result of more than 100 years of expertise on Mavic’s R-Sys SLR wheels.
If you need just one wheel for on-the-spot repairs, this features both rim brake and disc brake compatibility.
After designing the CLX 50s, we realized that an affordable, race-worthy carbon wheelset was nowhere to be found, until the CL 50 Disc was developed, that is. We paired our quiver-killing CLX 50 Disc rim with DT Swiss Competition round spokes, our Aero Flange Disc hubs with DT Swiss 350 internals, and steel bearings to deliver you an exceptional wheelset at a more than accessible price. Why disc you ask? With our disc-specific rims, you not only ditch the brake track, but you get a stronger, more impact-resistant rim. This comes at the hands of a disc-specific carbon layup that optimizes stiffness and keeps weight as close to its rim-brake brethren as possible. And all the while, you get incredible brake modulation and power in all conditions. Sharing rims with the CLX 50s, the CL 50s feature many of the benefits as their higher-end siblings. Even though the CL 50 is similar in weight to many wheels in the "lightweight" category, aerodynamics came at the forefront of the development. With this, we jumped headlong into Computational Fluid Dynamics computer modeling to arrive at various rim shapes that could make the CL 50 as fast and light as possible. It took a while, but we narrowed the rim shape down to three contenders that were then CNC machined into rims, built into wheels, and put into the Win Tunnel. In the tunnel, we tested every wheel, ours and the competition's, with a 24C tire (measuring 26C), as tires can drastically affect testing. We chose a modern-width tire to design our rims around, because they not only allow for less tire pressure (which results in more comfort and less rolling resistance) but are also just as aerodynamically efficient when paired with the correct rim width. Now it was time for final testing validation. The result? A 50mm-deep, 1515-gram clincher wheelset that's race-ready and wallet-friendly. - Assembly Method: Hand-built - Braking Surface: Disc brake only - Extras: Roval steel quick-releases, Roval tubeless plugs and valves, Front quick-release, 12mm endcaps, Rear quick-release, 142x12 thru-axle endcaps - Front Hub: Roval AFD1, Center Lock, sealed cartridge bearings, quick-release or 12mm thru-axle end cap - Front Spoke Pattern: Two-cross/Radial (2:1) - Nipple Type: DT Swiss Pro LockBrass hexagonal - Rear Hub: Roval AFD2, Center Lock, sealed cartridge bearings, DT Swiss 350 internals, 11-speed, quick-release or 142x12mm thru-axle end cap - Rear Spoke Pattern: One-cross/Two-cross (2:1) - Rim Depth: 50mm - Rim Material: Carbon - Rim Type: Carbon clincher, 2Bliss-Ready - Rim Width: 20.7mm internal, 29.4mm external - Spoke Count: 21 front, 24 rear - Spoke Type: DT Swiss Competition Race T-head - Total Wheelset Weight: 1,515g
First came our CLX 64. Then the 32s. And after racking up multiple wins in Grand Tours, Worlds, and everything in between, we knew that our best bet was to take the line to new heights, or well, new depths. We needed to design one wheel that was a true quiver killer. One wheel that had all the aerodynamic benefits of the 64 in a package that climbed like the 32, and that's where the all-new CLX 50 comes in. When we set out to create the CLX 50, we had clear goals in mind, create wheels that are 48 to 54mm deep, aerodynamically optimized, ultra-wide, and under 1400 grams. This meant that they'd have to borrow some weight savings techniques that we developed for the CLX 32, while taking some aero guidance from the CLX 64, if we were going to create what we like to call "the unicorn wheel." Even though the CLX 50 is similar in weight to many wheels in the "lightweight" category, aerodynamics came at the forefront of the development. With this, we jumped headlong into Computational Fluid Dynamics computer modeling to arrive at various rim shapes that could make the CLX 50 as fast and light as possible. After finding the optimized rim shape that supported our svelte weight requirements, we opted to lace the rims, via 16 DT Swiss Aerolite spokes, to our Aero Flange (AF) hub with the legendary CeramicSpeed bearings. And when it was time for final testing validation, we were left with a 50mm-deep, 1375-gram clincher wheelset that's not only 200 grams lighter than the competition's similar depth wheel, but is also measurably faster in every conceivable test than each wheel in its category. - Assembly Method: Hand-built - Brake Track Height: 12mm - Braking Surface: Carbon Fiber - Extras: Roval padded wheelbag, Roval steel quick-release, Roval tubeless plugs and tubeless valve, SwissStop Black Prince brake pads - Front Hub: Roval AF1, CeramicSpeed bearings - Nipple Type: DT Swiss Pro Lock hexagonal - Rim Depth: 50mm - Rim Material: Carbon - Rim Type: Carbon clincher, 2Bliss Ready - Rim Width: 20.7mm internal, 29.4mm external - Spoke Count: 16 - Spoke Pattern: Radial - Spoke Type: DT Swiss Aerolite T-head - Weight: 607g
